Manufacturers have produced the highest production total of any month on record. Through the first ten months of 2021, the association reported 510,608 RVs have been built. This is a spike of 1.2 percent from the previous 504,599 total manufactured in 2017.
With this latest report, 2021 officially becomes the year the RV industry built more RVs than ever before—and that is with two months left in the year.

Motorcoach manufacturing hits a new sales record in the RV industry
The association reported 57,971 units shipped last month. This resulted in an increase of 22.5 percent more manufactured RVs compared to the 47,326 units shipped during October 2020. Moreover, year-to-date shipments increased by 18% which surpassed the October 2017 total of 48,926 units. The m month of October took center stage with 55,014 units built. This is a 5 percent increase from September’s production total.
Trip planning in RVs increases over a year ago
Overall, this new shipment report comes on the tail of a recently released survey. This survey revealed that more Americans plan on RVing in the next year than ever before. Impressively, the survey revealed that 2 million American RVers planning a trip in 2022 in a unit they own, rent, or borrow. This result is an 18 percent increase over the 61 million reported in the same survey a year ago.

Towable RVs, led by conventional travel trailers
Comparatively, towable RVs, led by conventional travel trailers, ended the month up 23.3 percent. Furthermore, this number is against last October with 52,856 wholesale shipments. In addition, motorhomes finished the month up 14.4 percent. That number compares to the same month last year with 5,115 units.
As for Park Model RVs ended the month up 6.3 percent compared to October 2020, with 354 wholesale shipments.
